Naples club's president claims interest from Nerazzurri
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that Inter are interested in signing Ezequiel Lavezzi but insists that the forward will not leave Naples this summer.
The Argentina international is rated as one of the best players in Serie A and with Inter having sold Samuel Eto'o to Anzhi Makhachkala, Lavezzi has been mooted as one of the number of potential replacements that also include Atletico Madrid forward Diego Forlan and Manchester City's Carlos Tevez.
De Laurentiis has now said that Inter president Massimo Moratti had indeed called him to discuss about signing the 26-year-old but explains that they could not afford to meet their asking price.
"Lavezzi at Inter? His release clause is €32million," De Laurentiis told the Italian media.
"I have spoken with Moratti over the phone. He told me that this summer, due to financial reasons, nothing can be done."
Lavezzi, who joined Napoli from San Lorenzo in 2007, is an integral player in coach Walter Mazzarri's team and helped the Partenopei finish third in Serie A last season with six goals and 12 assists.
