Allardyce closes in on striker

Skysports.com understands MK Dons striker Sam Baldock is undergoing a medical at West Ham. As revealed by skysports.com earlier this week, West Ham had tabled a bid for Baldock which was rejected by MK Dons. However, West Ham have gone back with an improved offer and now the Dons have given permission for Baldock to hold talks and undergo a medical at Upton Park. Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is keen to land Baldock after watching him twice in action in the last week. Allardyce is determined to bolster his attacking options and he sees Baldock as a key addition to his squad. A number of other clubs are also thought to be waiting in the wings to move for Baldock, who has scored six goals already this season. Baldock , who made his debut for MK Dons in 2006, has scored 42 goals in 123 appearances for the League One outfit, but they have reluctantly agreed to let him move on.
