Peter Odemwignie admits he probably rushed back from injury too soon, as he finds himself back on the treatment table.
The West Brom striker, fresh from penning a contract extension at the Hawthorns, made his first appearance of the season in the Baggies' 2-1 defeat at Chelsea on 20th August.
A niggling injury had kept him sidelined up until that point, and a run-out at Stamford Bridge saw him suffer a relapse.
He was forced out of Sunday's home defeat to Stoke as a result, leaving Roy Hodgson shorn of his most potent attacking weapon.
Odemwingie is planning to be back in time for a clash with Norwich on 11th September, with it hoped that his luck is about to change.
Mistake
"Unfortunately the action hasn't started for me yet," he told the
Birmingham Mail.
"Maybe it was a mistake on the part of the medics as well as myself in underestimating the injury.
"I played 20 minutes against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and did not expect to be out (against Stoke) but it's unfortunate.
"That's football for you and I will have to keep working hard to make sure I come back to action very soon."
