Bolton manager Owen Coyle has confirmed the club will hold contract talks with Gary Cahill when he returns from international duty.
Cahill is currently away with England preparing for Tuesday's clash with Wales, having scored in the Three Lions' 3-0 Euro 2012 qualifying win over Bulgaria on Friday.
The 25-year-old was a player in demand before the transfer window closed with the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham looking at him.
Cahill is currently out of contract at the Reebok next summer, meaning he could leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Coyle is not looking to lose Cahill and says talks will open regarding a new deal when he returns after the Wembley clash with Wales.
"That (a new deal) is for when Gary comes back and the powers that be; I think the owner or the chairman will have a chat with his representatives," commented Coyle.
