Torquay United have agreed a new three-year deal with former Everton youngster Eunan O'Kane, skysports.com can reveal.
Skysports.com reported last week that Torquay had opened contract talks with O'Kane in a bid to secure his long-term future.
The midfielder's previous contract was set to expire at the end of the current campaign but the Gulls have now tied him up until the end of the 2014 season.
The new terms will see a release clause included for the 21-year-old who has played in all of Torquay's games this season.
O'Kane signed for the Plainmoor outfit from Coleraine in 2010 and made an impressive start to his career in the Football League.
In his first full campaign last season, he made 55 appearances, scoring eight goals, helping Torquay reach the League Two play-off final.
Earlier this month, he made the decision to play for the Republic of Ireland after representing Northern Ireland at Under-21 level.
Torquay manager Martin Ling recently explained that O'Kane was "at the heart of our passing game."
