Assistant manager Dave Kemp declared himself delighted after Stoke ended their losing streak against Manchester United with a 1-1 draw at the Britannia Stadium.
The Potters had lost six of their previous Premier League meetings with United and again fell behind on Saturday when Nani broke the deadlock with a fine finish in the first half.
However, Stoke battled back to claim a deserved point thanks to Peter Crouch's header after the interval, which also halted United's perfect start to the season.
Kemp said: "It's a great result for us and the first time we have taken anything off Manchester United.
"They were the last team in the Premier League that we haven't got anything against.
"Having played very well on a number of occasions against them without getting anything, today we did and we are delighted."
Crouch also admitted that it meant a lot to get a point against United considering how well the Premier League champions have been playing so far this season.
The striker added: "It's always nice to get your first goal for your new club In front of your home supporters.
"United are in top, top form and that win was down to hard work and that little bit of quality and that's why we get those results."
