Newcastle midfielder ready to hit goal trail

Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye believes he can score the goals to help fire the club back into Europe. The 25-year-old spurned the chance to play UEFA Champions League football with Lille to join the north east club in a £4.6million deal over the summer. He has helped the Magpies to remain unbeaten in the league so far, winning three and drawing three of their opening six games to sit in fourth place. Cabaye has yet to score for his new club but he remains confident it won't be long before he opens his account and that his goals can help the Toon Army return to Europe after a five-year absence. "I wanted to discover the Premier League and see if I could play here. Newcastle were the only club to offer me the opportunity," Cabaye told the Daily Mail. "It is a great club and for me that was enough. I believe we can get Newcastle into Europe. "I like to shoot from long distances and I like to score goals. I am pretty sure my first goal will come soon."
