Stephen Crainey is hoping that 'a couple of injections' will help him to make Blackpool's trip to West Ham on Saturday.
The full-back is currently nursing an ankle injury and faces a race against time to make the Upton Park clash.
The knock forced him to withdraw from the Scotland squad for their Euro 2012 qualification double-header against Liechtenstein and Spain.
He has, however, been able to work on his fitness during the international break and is optimistic regarding his chances of taking in domestic action this weekend.
"I've been struggling for a few weeks with my ankle, and with the three games in a week we had (before the international break) it swelled up a bit," Crainey told the Blackpool Gazette.
"I went to see the specialist and he recommended a couple of injections. They seem to have worked, so hopefully I'll be okay for West Ham.
"I'm disappointed not to have been involved against Spain, but I've been struggling for weeks and this was the only time I could get to rest it up."
