Gregg Wylde is hoping to tread a similar path to former Rangers star Charlie Adam in the future, but claims to be happy in Scotland for now.
The 20-year-old winger is tipped for the top after graduating through the academy ranks at Ibrox.
Adam is a product of the same system and has gone on to grace the Premier League with Blackpool and earn himself a big-money move to Liverpool.
His success has put down a benchmark for the likes of Wylde, who have set their sights on forging a career in the English top flight.
For now, though, Wylde is prepared to be patient and claims he would have no qualms about seeing out the five-year contract he penned earlier this season with the Gers.
He said: "Charlie had been here since he was a wee boy and now he has moved on to better things with Blackpool and Liverpool.
"Hopefully I can do that in my career but I'm happy to play with Rangers and that's the most important thing.
"I'm just concentrating on playing for Rangers because I'm a Rangers fan and hopefully I can stay here for longer."
Wylde is hoping to go head-to-head with Adam on Tuesday, with Rangers set to face Liverpool in a mid-season friendly in Glasgow.
He said: "We can take a lot out of it.
"We played Chelsea at the start of the season and I was unfortunate not to play in it but hopefully I can get a shot tomorrow and get a run-out against some of the best players in the Premiership."
