Sheffield United winger Ryan Flynn has offered his support to under-fire keeper Steve Simonsen following his costly error in the Steel City derby.
The experienced shot-stopper conceded twice in the final eight minutes against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday to see the Blades throw away a two-goal lead against their arch-rivals.
Gary Madine's late equaliser saw the in-form striker head home with Simonsen caught out when trying to punch clear.
However, Flynn claims no-one inside Bramall Lane will be pointing the finger at the former Stoke stopper after he pulled off several superb saves to keep the Owls at bay.
"Simmo has done really well and managed to keep four or five clean sheets already, so I'm sure that no-one will be pointing the finger in his direction any time soon," he told skysports.com.
"Teams are going to come to Bramall Lane and put up a good fight just like Sheffield Wednesday did, but we've got a lot of strong characters in the dressing room that can deal with that type of pressure on a regular basis.
"The atmosphere at the Lane has been immense for the games there so far, especially yesterday's local derby, and hopefully the fans can keep it going and make it a real fortress for us."
