Southampton's Steve De Ridder has admitted the fast pace of the Championship has set his mind racing for a second-successive promotion.
The Belgian scored the equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Reading on Saturday that keeps the Saints three points clear at the top of the table.
De Ridder said he relishes the speed of the league, expressing his excitement for a potential step up to the Premier League.
"Here the tempo is amazing. When you come on and want to make an impact the game is so fast," he said.
"But on the other hand there's an advantage for me as well because the defenders aren't as mobile.
"When you're out there it's even faster than when you are watching. And if this is the Championship, imagine what the Premier League is like."
The winger, who snubbed advances from Holland's top sides in favour of the Saints, added that Nigel Adkins' top flight ambitions gave him an opportunity he could not refuse.
"I flew over and immediately was sold on the club - it's the beginning of a nice story, I guess," he added.
"They talked about their vision and that was a good story for me as well - they want to go up. I wanted to be part of it.
"It was one chance in a lifetime."
