Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic is confident he can start to regain his best form following a frustrating spell on the sidelines due to injury.
Vidic suffered a calf problem in the win at West Brom in United's opening game of the season in August and was then sent off against Otelul Galati in the UEFA Champions League on his comeback last month.
He then sat out the humiliating 6-1 derby defeat by Manchester City, but has since helped the Red Devils keep successive clean sheets against Aldershot and Everton.
The former Serbia international is happy to be back to fitness after admitting he had never previously endured such a lengthy spell out of action.
The centre-half was pleased with United's form during his absence and is now keen to play his part in the club's bid for success this season.
"I have never been out so long," said Vidic. "It was eight weeks and it was a difficult time.
"I was desperate to be there but at least we did well, so I didn't have that much pressure to come back and play.
"That helped me. Now I feel well. I don't feel any pain, which is the most important thing.
"I can move on, try to reach my top form game by game and help the team reach our goals."
