Peterborough United midfielder Lee Frecklington has been rewarded for his impressive form this season with a new two-year contract. Frecklington was restricted to just nine appearances in League One last term after enduring an injury-hit campaign as Posh won promotion to the Championship. The 26-year-old was placed on the transfer list by manager Darren Ferguson before a strong showing in pre-season saw him established in the team. He has started all 15 of Peterborough's league games this season, although he will miss Saturday's game against Derby County after being sent off against Southampton in midweek. The former Lincoln City midfielder was due to be out of contract at the end of the campaign and Ferguson was keen to secure his services for the future. Ferguson told the club's official website: "It is great news because Lee has performed extremely well for us this season. "He was on the transfer list in the summer, he was very open about his feelings in pre-season and we gave him a clean sheet and he has done the business."
