Birmingham boss Chris Hughton does not believe he will be bringing a new player into St Andrews on loan in the short term.
Hughton has been linked with a move for striker Nile Ranger from his former team Newcastle, with clubs in the Championship having until November 24 to secure emergency loans.
But the Blues boss has faith in his current squad and does not believe he will be bringing any player into St Andrews in the immediate short term, although he has no problems with loan moves, with Chris Wood, Boaz Myhill and Guirane N'Daw on temporary agreements.
The Blues boss told the Birmingham Mail: "Yes, of course I am open to the idea of loans.
"But do I think somebody will definitely be coming in very shortly? Then the answer is no. I have to be honest on that one.
"What has happened is that we have had members of the squad who have come back from injury. The squad is definitely looking better and tighter. And we have coped okay in the last period.
"And anybody who you can bring in to improve you as a team is generally somebody who will look to play.
"I do think you have to be open to the possibility of loans because one week you're fine but two, three weeks down the line you've got a few problems.
"And the run you have had might not be so good, the spell without injuries might not be so good.
"I'm conscious of that, so you have to be on the pulse all the time and know which players may be available on loan.
"But right at this moment we've got a very committed team, a very committed squad, that is having a real go.
"The players that are playing are doing a good job and I can't ask any more of the lads."
