Sam Vokes believes Wales can look forward to the 2014 World Cup qualifiers with confidence following the progress made under Gary Speed in recent months.
Wales won three of their final Euro 2012 qualifiers to avoid finishing bottom of their group and thumped Norway 4-1 in a friendly at the weekend.
Vokes, who scored a late brace against Norway after coming on as a substitute, has praised the transformation of the Wales squad since Speed took charge as coach late last year.
The Wolves striker is now hoping Wales can enjoy a positive World Cup qualification campaign after being drawn alongside Croatia, Serbia, Belgium, Scotland and Macedonia.
"We are getting the results we need and improving all the time," said Vokes. "The main goal is now the qualifiers.
"Ever since the World Cup group was named, everyone is looking forward to the qualifiers next year. Going into those we can take a lot of confidence."
He added: "Norway are a good strong side but we beat them 4-1 at home which is a big statement.
"There has been a transformation in everything from the medical staff up to the playing staff. You can see that things off the pitch are paying off on the pitch.
"The gaffer makes everyone feel a part whether they are playing or on the fringe or not even involved.
"He is a great manager and there is a great team spirit which shows on the pitch."
