Leighton Baines is confident Everton can move forward and kick-start their season after ending their losing run with a 2-1 home win over Wolves.
The Toffees had lost five of their last six matches, but a late penalty from Baines was enough to seal the points in a less than enthralling game.
Baines is confident though that after picking up the win they can start to play with more confidence and style.
He told the Liverpool Echo: "Hopefully that eases the pressure and takes a bit off it. If we can nick another few wins then things start to look a lot better. With that the performances will come back around then.
"It wasn't pretty. Even from the start you could see there were nerves. But things look a lot better after the win and three points.
"Although none of the games coming up are easy by any means (Bolton away, Stoke at home, Arsenal away), they look a lot better than the previous half dozen fixtures.
"People stop and ask you what's happening and I've said to everyone 'Get back to us in January and we'll definitely be in a good position.' I am confident about that.
"You've got to have that belief. There's no hiding from the fact we've played some top sides. Come New Year I believe we'll be in a really good position."
