Royston Drenthe believes Everton's left hand flank can become a potent attacking force as he develops a relationship with Leighton Baines.
The Dutch winger was signed on a season-long loan from Real Madrid before the close of the transfer window and, having played in a couple of positions, is now finding his best form ahead of Baines.
And it is something that he is clearly relishing.
"At the moment I am playing with one of the best left-backs in the world. Leighton has really good qualities," Drenthe told evertontv.
"We had a good relationship right from the beginning and that is really important. He can understand me and I can understand him - I am really happy to play with someone like that."
Baines and Drenthe had previously locked horns at Under 21 level for their respective countries and the Dutchman credits David Moyes for having the tactical acumen to ask them to work in tandem.
"It is important that when I am on the pitch I play and fight for the team," he added.
"The gaffer gave me some jobs to do, to help Bainesy. I played okay, I feel I can do better and be more important for the team.
"I am not disappointed - I played a good game and we won but I can do more.
"I played against him in the semi-finals of the European Under 21 Championship. It took 26 penalties to settle that game so I remember him well and he remembers me!"
