Brentford winger Sam Wood has joined Rotherham on loan until January after falling down the pecking order with the Bees.
The 25-year-old, a former player of the year at Griffin Park, has slipped out of the first-team reckoning this season. He will link up with ex-Brentford manager Andy Scott at Millmoor. Bees boss Uwe Rosler told the club's official website: "Sam is still a valuable member of the squad and I would have liked to have kept him. "But I understand that when a player, over time, is not in the squad, there comes a point when you have to let them go and play games." Wood added: "Obviously I haven't really had a look in at Brentford, and I've worked with the gaffer before at Brentford. "There was an injury on Saturday to a left-sided player, and he got on the case quickly to get me up here." Scott added: "He is a real tough, hardy soul and works ever so hard. He is a player that I have been interested in for a long time. "He knows the way I play and will come seamlessly into the side and make the easy transition. He has the work ethic and attitude of what I want to do ingrained in his brain." Brentford have also confirmed on-loan midfielder Blair Adams has returned to parent club Sunderland.
