Watford manager Sean Dyche is hoping leading scorer Marvin Sordell did not suffer a serious ankle injury in Saturday's draw at Doncaster.
Sordell was forced off after 37 minutes of the weekend's game and is a doubt for the Hornets' clash with fellow strugglers Bristol City on Tuesday.
Dyche is awaiting the results of an assessment on the England Under 21 international and is optimistic there has been no major damage.
"It looks on first viewing as though he's rolled his ankle, although of course I'll wait to see what the medical team's assessment of things is between now and Tuesday's game," Hornets boss Sean Dyche told the club's official website.
"Although you don't want players to be carrying on and doing themselves more damage, it's probably a positive sign that he was close to running it off before we had to replace him.
"He's probably had as much football as anyone this season, what with his international commitments.
"We monitor everyone closely and we'll be leaving a decision on Marvin for Tuesday's game as late as we can."
