Torquay boss Martin Ling concedes they could face a fight to keep hold of in-form midfielder Eunan O'Kane.
Skysports.com understands a host of Championship and League One clubs are tracking the highly-rated 21-year-old who is thought to have a release clause of £200,000 in his new contract.
O'Kane has been in sparkling form for Torquay this season, netting four goals, including two stunning efforts in the recent 3-1 win over Plymouth.
Ling is not surprised that other clubs are interested in signing O'Kane as he is a big admirer of the former Everton youngster.
"People will take note, he's got a few goals now, he's 21 - it's obvious that he would court attention," said Ling.
"He's a player that I rate highly, that's the reason he was the first person we got sorted out on a contract.
"It wasn't the fact the people were knocking my door down, but I'm sure if he continues in the vein that he's been playing this season, there will be interested parties."
