Aldershot's on-loan striker Greg Pearson admits he is unsure where his long-term future lies, but expects to return to parent club Burton Albion in January.
The 26-year-old has made just two substitute appearances for the Shots since joining on loan last month.
The former West Ham youngster had found his first-team chances restricted at the Pirelli Stadium following a broken toe in August and the subsequent form of Justin Richards and Billy Kee.
However, with January fast approaching, Pearson says he remains in the dark regarding what happens upon the completion of his current loan spell.
"It is a long way away at the moment and having just come back from a broken toe I'm just concentrating on getting some games under my belt and building my fitness up again," Pearson told skysports.com.
"I'll take it from there really, but the gaffer eluded to getting me back there in January, so we will have to see how it goes till then I guess.
"I never expected to come here and be thrown into the starting line-up straight away anyway because they've got a good squad here that were doing well before I arrived.
"I'll just keep working hard and plugging away in training so that I'm ready to take my chance when given the opportunity to either start or come off the bench."
