Defender to return from nearly three months out against Udinese

Celtic defender Kelvin Wilson is in contention to make his comeback against Udinese, but Glenn Loovens is out for another 10 days. Wilson has been sidelined since September due to an Achilles injury, but may be thrust into the team for Thursday's crunch Europa League tie. With Loovens and Adam Matthews out, former Nottingham Forest stopper Wilson is an option to ease the Bhoys' defensive concerns. "He is in contention, that's why he is travelling," said assistant manager Johan Mjallby.

Mentally ready

"I know he has been out for some time but he had a bounce game last week and mentally he is ready. "Adam Matthews, Kris Commons and Joe Ledley are out. "The good news is that Emilio Izaguirre is fit and travelling with us but it's too early for him to play. "Glenn Loovens is unfortunately out for another 10 days." Mjallby is confident that the former Cardiff defender, who sustained a hamstring injury against Hearts on Saturday, will be back for the Old Firm game at Celtic Park on 28th December. He said: "Glenn has so much experience anyway, his hamstring injury is flaring up but with his experience he is probably going to be in contention." Udinese - second in Serie A only on goal difference to Juventus - lead Celtic by three points but should the Italian team lose, the Parkhead men would go through by virtue of their head-to-head record. Mjallby recognised the task ahead, saying, "They are doing extremely well in Serie A but we have a chance to go through. "Udinese are favourites, they are at home, doing superbly well domestically but we are looking forward to it."
