Keiren Westwood hopes Sunderland can carry confidence into their meeting with Tottenham and continue the quest for an improved league position.
Martin O'Neill made an immediate impact last weekend when inspiring his new club to a dramatic, late win over Blackburn at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland on Sunday face a daunting trip to Tottenham, who will be stinging from their controversial defeat at Stoke.
But Westwood believes morale has been lifted by defeating Blackburn and the goalkeeper wants to maintain momentum in order to climb the table from a current position of 16th.
He told the
Sunderland Echo: "It's a big game for us at Spurs and we're looking forward to it.
"As a goalkeeper, you expect a busy afternoon. They're a top-four team with a big squad and they've won a lot of games at home.

"It's going to be a tough place, but we've picked up a bit of confidence now and you never know."
O'Neill was brought in as a successor to Steve Bruce, who was sacked after the miserable defeat by fellow strugglers Wigan.
The former Aston Villa, Celtic, Leicester and Wycombe boss then watched from the stands during Sunderland's defeat at another of their relegation rivals, Wolves, where the Black Cats failed to convert a penalty just seconds before conceding an equaliser.
And Westwood said: "We needed a win against Blackburn whether it was a different manager in place or not.
"We should have won both the Wigan and Wolves games - it was a crazy 25 seconds at Molineux - so we should be higher up the table, we know that.
"We know we should have a better points tally. But the only way we can rectify that is to keep going and pick up as many as we can."
