Wolves hold injury hopes

Edwards and Jarvis could return; Craddock and Foley building fitness

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy hopes to have David Edwards and Matt Jarvis fit and available for Saturday's match against Stoke. Both players sustained injuries in last weekend's defeat at Manchester United and have yet to return to training. But McCarthy, whose team sit just above the Premier League relegation zone, is optimistic Edwards (groin) and Jarvis (thigh) will be ready when Stoke visit Molineux. "Eddo' (Edwards) has not trained yet," the Wolves boss told his club's official website on Wednesday. "Hopefully he will train on Thursday, but we will see. "His groin tightened up, but hopefully he'll be okay. Sometimes you just tighten up and you've got to come off. "You are actually better coming off than carrying on playing and ending up with a strain and I think that's what he did.

Chance

"It's the same with Jarvo' (Jarvis), who picked up a sore thigh in the game. He'll not train until tomorrow." McCarthy, though, has confirmed centre-back Jody Craddock is not close to returning from his hamstring injury. "He is still injured and I don't think he has got a chance for Saturday," said McCarthy. Kevin Foley has returned to training after undergoing an ankle operation in October, but McCarthy will not rush the defender back into his first-team squad. "Foles' trained with us yesterday, but he is nowhere near ready," said McCarthy. "He will have to play a couple of reserve games before he is ready to play. He has been out a long time. "We will arrange something, even if it is amongst ourselves. But he needs to get some football."
