Striker desperate to recover from injury in time for finals

Italy striker Giuseppe Rossi hopes to be fit in time for the finals of Euro 2012 and is giving no thought to the transfer market. The Villarreal star, who has been a target of Tottenham among other clubs in the past, was in October ruled out for six months after suffering a cruciate ligament injury. Rossi is desperate to return to full fitness in time for next summer's finals, when Cesare Prandelli's Italy will take on holders Spain, Republic of Ireland and Croatia in Group C. And the 24-year-old is prioritising the international tournament over the potential transfer talk which could surface next summer. He told Radio Kiss Kiss when asked about Euro 2012: "Obviously I hope to be fit. I'm working to be able to return to playing as soon as possible. "At this time, I don't think about the market. I suffered a bad injury and my priority is to come back soon and be present at the European Championship in the summer. "I've spoken with coach Prandelli and I told him I am committing myself to coming back soon."
