Catania general manager Pietro Lo Monaco has confirmed he is '90 per cent sure' AC Milan target Maxi Lopez will leave in next month's transfer window.
Serie A giants Milan have confirmed Lopez is a "standby" option should they fail to agree a loan deal with Manchester City for Carlos Tevez.
Lo Monaco claims there have also been other offers for the Argentinian striker and expects him to depart the Sicily club in January.
"I'm 90 per cent sure he will leave," he told Radio Rai. "There is a general agreement in place with Milan, but we also have other offers.
"Giving a player to Milan would make us proud. The Rossoneri have asked us for time and two weeks have passed.
"As a small side, we must consider everything that happens."
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani had previously confirmed: "Maxi Lopez is the alternative to Tevez. Let's see what happens between now and January 31st."
Lopez, who joined Catania in 2010 after departing FC Moscow, admits his future is still up in the air.
"I don't know what will happen," he said. "Milan, in my opinion, are undoubtedly the most important Italian side and for me it would be a big joy.
"But for now I'll still a Catania player and there's only one game left before the end of the year. Then we will see."
