Midfielder back in the fold after time in the wilderness

Neil Warnock is pleased Adel Taarabt has responded positively to a threat of a kick in the teeth from the rest of the Queens Park Rangers squad. The Moroccan seemed certain to leave Loftus Road in January after failing to make a matchday squad for almost two months amid accusations of a poor attitude. But against Manchester United last weekend, substitute Taarabt showed flashes of the brilliance he had displayed in last season's Championship-winning campaign. The midfielder's second-half display then inspired QPR's ultimately unsuccessful fightback in Wednesday night's 3-2 defeat to Sunderland, and Warnock is happy with the response. "I'm really pleased for him," the QPR boss told the Ealing Gazette after the loss to the Black Cats. "He's trained well and the lads have got him back in the fold. They've told him why they want to kick him in the teeth and he's responded in the right way. "I wanted to bring Taarbs on. I didn't want to put him out wide. I wanted him around the hub. "I thought all the lads accepted what he did. We know he's going to make mistakes, but in general he played really well."
