Hearts boss not commenting on midfielder quit reports

Paulo Sergio is remaining tight-lipped on reports Ryan Stevenson will no longer play for Hearts while Andrew Driver remains in his plans. Stevenson has grown frustrated at the financial problems surrounding the Tynecastle side with players' wages being paid late on a regular basis. The 27-year-old has reportedly pulled himself out of the firing line, although Portuguese tactician Sergio insists he 'likes' him as a man and as a player. Sergio needs all his players available to help push through the difficult period at the Edinburgh club and he has confirmed he will call upon want-away Driver if needed.

Respect

"I like Ryan Stevenson as a player and as a man, but I don't want to make any comment about that," he told Sky Sports. "I respect the man. "We need everybody to win and get through our situation. "It's not the moment to make comments.
Plans
Sergio added: "We spoke after the weekend. He's (Driver) in my plans. "I'm not here for me or Andrew Driver or anybody else, I'm here for Hearts. I'm fighting for Hearts. "I'm worried about everything. I don't want to talk anymore about this. "I just want to wish everybody a Merry Christmas, especially Hearts supporters."
