Villa right-back can understand fans' frustration

Alan Hutton has admitted it has taken time for him to settle in at Aston Villa, but he hopes he is now starting to show his best form. The 27-year-old right-back joined Villa from Tottenham during the summer but has endured a frustrating first half to the season. He missed the draw with Stoke due to a one-match suspension and faces a fight to regain his place in the side after Carlos Cuellar impressed in his absence. However, Hutton maintains that he is now ready to start firing and he hopes the supporters will no longer have a reason to be exasperated with his performances. "Sometimes it just takes time for people to settle in, become comfortable and build up their confidence," he said in the Birmingham Mail.

Annoyed

"Hopefully that's starting to happen now. "I think it can happen where supporters forget players are human beings and think we're mechanical, but I can understand why. "They pay their money and they want to come and see the players on a Saturday playing to the best of their ability. "For different reasons it doesn't happen every week. "But at this club, at this level we're playing at, we're expected to perform week in, week out, so I can understand why people get annoyed."
