Oldham Athletic have re-signed forward Robbie Simpson on loan from Huddersfield with a view to a permanent move.

Simpson's initial three-month period with the Boundary Park outfit ended on December 10, but he was granted permission to remain training with Latics by his parent club. The 26-year-old is available to play for Paul Dickov's side against Chesterfield in League Two on Saturday and a full transfer to Oldham could be completed as early as next week. Deals for Simpson's fellow Latics loanees Nathan Clarke, Tom Adeyemi, Luca Scapuzzi and Andrea Mancini all expire after the Chesterfield game, and Dickov is looking to keep the quartet with his squad. "If we can keep the loan signings, with the players we already have here, I will be delighted," he told the club's official website.
