Anthony Stokes' fantastic opener set Neil Lennon's men on the road to victory at East End Park, before further strikes from Victor Wanyama and a Charlie Mulgrew free-kick sealed a one-sided contest.
The result leaves Celtic two points clear of champions Rangers, who also notched up a 3-0 win - seeing off Motherwell at Ibrox.
David Healy's shot on the turn gave the Gers their first goal - and his first strike in 11 months - while winger Sone Aluko grabbed his first for the club and a Stephen Craigan own-goal wrapped up the scoring for Ally McCoist's team.
Bragging rights
Hearts took the local bragging rights in the Edinburgh derby at Easter Road thanks to goals from Ryan McGowan, Andy Webster and a stunning left-footed drive from Rudi Skacel in a 3-1 win.
A Marius Zaliukas own-goal had brought Hibernian level, but there was no stopping the Jambos, who also had a penalty saved when Graham Stack denied Ian Black in the first half.
Elsewhere, Kari Arnason's long-range stunner sunk Dundee United at Tannadice as Aberdeen ran out 2-1 victors.
The hosts had taken an early lead through Jon Daly, only for Mohamed Chalali to level for the visitors, before Arnason struck the winner.
And finally, Kilmarnock were indebted to a fantastic late chip from Danny Racchi as they came from a goal down to see off in-form St Mirren 2-1.
Lee Mair headed St Mirren into the lead, but Paul Heffernan drew Killie level and Racchi netted the winner as the hosts battled to a great win.
