Oldham's highly-rated winger Chris Taylor insists that he is ready to make the step up to the Championship, but is happy to remain at his hometown club.
The 25-year-old's contract with the Latics is set to expire this summer, with talks scheduled for a later date, but his situation has alerted several clubs during the January transfer window.
However, Taylor, who has made over 250 appearances for the club, told Sky Sports that he is not going to let speculation affect his performances at such a crucial period of the season.
"It is always nice to hear big clubs linked with your name, but I'm just concentrating on my game and doing well for Oldham at the minute," he said.
"What will happen in the future will happen and I'm a bit older and wiser now because it's not the first time I've been linked with other clubs.
"Although it is nice, I'm happy to just concentrate on doing my best for Oldham because you need to be fully committed in football or you'll get found out.
"I feel that I'm definitely ready for the challenge of playing in the Championship and there were a few times last season when we thought that we had a chance of playing in it this year, but we didn't kick on after January.
"If we didn't go close again this year then I don't know what will happen, but I'm enjoying my football under the gaffer here at Oldham and as long as that continues then I'll be happy."
Potential suitors will be monitoring the tricky winger in Friday night's FA Cup trip to Premier League outfit Liverpool and Taylor insists that the occasion will not get the better of him.
"You'd hope that the bigger the stage, and the more people watching, should bring out the best in you and that is usually the case for me.
"It should bring the best out of us at Oldham because we are used to playing in front of a few thousand every week.
"We played in front of just under 20,000 at Charlton a few weeks ago and managed to come away with a point from the league leaders, so hopefully that shows we can raise our game for the bigger platform."
