Alan Pardew admits he is considering yet another loan move this season for promising young full-back James Tavernier - just days after he returned to Newcastle.
The 20-year-old returned to Tyneside last week after Pardew was unwilling to extend his spell at League One promotion chasers Sheffield Wednesday as he was playing as a winger rather than in his preferred right-back berth.
And the Newcastle boss admits he has impressed so much in training that he is willing to let Tavernier, who also had a spell at Carlisle earlier this season, leave again to gain much-needed first-team action, with Brighton & Hove Albion leading the chase for his services.
"He's been brilliant, absolutely brilliant," Pardew said. "That loan period has done him the world of good.
"He's come back, and the highest compliment I can make is that he's looked like Danny Simpson in training.
"He's come back at that level, so fair play to him. With Santon, Ryan, Danny and Fergie, we're blessed with full-backs. We've now got Tav, so I'll consider sending him out again.
"I think he'll go to the Championship this time, and do well."
