Czech winger to spend the spring in Italy before moving to Spain

Czech winger Daniel Pudil will link up with Spanish outfit Granada in the summer after agreeing a switch from Genk. Pudil's agent confirmed on Tuesday that an agreement had been put in place. The 26-year-old has penned a five-and-a-half-year contract with Granada. Before completing a move to the Primera Liga, he will spend the spring on loan at Italian side Cesena.

Situation

Pudil will therefore get the opportunity to experience life in Serie A before switching his attention to the Spanish top flight in 2012/13. "This is nothing unusual," said the Czech Republic international's representative, Ondrej Chovanec. "Granada wanted him as of the summer, but the situation at Genk changed so they had to buy him now. "We agreed on the loan when we signed the contract on Sunday."
