Portsmouth striker Marko Futacs has revealed that he still has not signed a new contract, despite his manager claiming otherwise.
Boss Michael Appleton said that terms were agreed with the player's agent after talks during January.
The 21-year-old joined the club last summer on a year's contract, with the option of a further year tied into the deal.
But the Hungarian told website Origo that he is still waiting to put pen to paper: "All I know is what I've read in the papers, officially nobody contacted me.
"But it's not a secret that I'd be happy if Portsmouth chose to validate the option in my contract, because it would mean that they value me.
Futacs has scored in three of Portsmouth's last five games, helping them beat Watford in the process.
He also grabbed a consolation as Portsmouth fell to defeat against Cardiff last weekend - a result that left them 17th in the Championship.
He added: "I was suffering during the last 30 minutes on the pitch (against Cardiff) as a left winger.
"But I think my performance wasn't disappointing as I scored a goal, although I was lucky, because the goalkeeper lost the ball and I was just there to score.
"Next week we travel to Peterborough and it may be an easier task to play there, we must grab a point."
