Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has hinted he is ready to welcome Carlos Tevez back into the fold if he apologises for going AWOL.
Reports in Argentina have claimed Tevez is set to return to City on Tuesday from his homeland and is ready to play again for Mancini's side.
Tevez tried to leave City during the January transfer window, but saw prospective moves to AC Milan, Inter Milan and Paris Saint Germain fall through.
The Argentine has not played for City since September, after he refused to warm up during the UEFA Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich, and Mancini has previously suggested the former Manchester United man was finished at the Etihad Stadium.
Mancini, speaking after his side's 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday, refused to give too much away about the possibility of Tevez playing again for the club, but admitted it all depends on the striker if he wants to end his exile.
"My reaction is always the same," Mancini told Sky Sports HD1. "Carlos knows the situation, we are here and it depends on him.
"Carlos knows the situation from September, we don't have any problem."
Asked if an apology was still what City were waiting for, the Italian added: "Yes, it's possible. I think for now we should be happy for this game.
"For Carlos' situation, we know what can happen, Carlos knows what can happen and we are here and Carlos knows everything
"Carlos is a Manchester City player. We are in Manchester, we are always there.
"We have not changed in these three months, we are there."
