Fulham winger Simon Davies has expressed his desire to see the club push forward and achieve a top-ten finish in the Premier League.
Martin Jol's side have struggled to maintain form throughout the season with a hectic schedule as they continued to battle with European and domestic football.
However, failure to qualify for the knockout stages of the Europa League means that focus can be regained on the Premier League campaign as they aim to build momentum.
And, after a 2-1 victory at Craven Cottage last Saturday against Stoke City allowed Fulham to leapfrog the Potters by virtue of goal difference, Davies expects his side to draw on the performance and continue to win matches.
"The manager did point it out to us that going into these games on the back of a win would give us that little bit of extra confidence," he told the club's
official website.
Push
"We want to really push on and get into the top half of the table with another couple of good results.
"We all obviously know it'll be very hard still because they're all fighting for survival down the bottom there but they're games that we have got to be looking to go and take the initiative in."
The Cottagers exited the FA Cup when they were beaten by Everton in the fourth round and that gives the squad an extra week to prepare for their next encounter against Queens Park Rangers, and Davies believes the time off will benefit the squad.
"I think it's always good to get a break," he added. "Not just for me but the lads coming off the back of the European games as well, they've had such a tough six months.
Recharge
"We've trained well this week but we'll have a couple of days off now and hopefully recharge the batteries and finish the season strongly on the back of it."
Wales international Davies is simply glad to be back in action having had his season plagued by injury but the 32-year-old is delighted to have played 210 minutes in the club's last three outings.
"Playing games is all part of the building process," he said. "You get stronger and stronger the fitter you stay.
"Those minutes on the pitch will definitely help me and I felt stronger again this week so I'm just trying to get as fit as possible so that if I'm called upon I can do the best I can."
