Birmingham starlet Nathan Redmond says the speculation linking him with a host of top clubs has only made him work harder at St Andrews'.
Redmond has made a big impact with the Midlanders this season, despite manager Chris Hughton limiting his appearances as he eases him into the first-team set-up.
The 17-year-old winger attracted reported interest from the Premier League during last month's transfer window, with Manchester City and Liverpool thought to be monitoring him.
The England Under-18 international was flattered by the attention and says it has driven him to give even more for the Blues.
He told The Guardian: "The speculation about transfers is a compliment and it just kicked me on a bit more.
"When I heard about Manchester City and Liverpool I sat down with my mum and my agent and I've talked to the gaffer as well, and he's assured me that as long as I keep working hard, everything should go smoothly."
Birmingham-born Redmond was named in the Blues' side to face Chelsea in the FA Cup on Saturday having made the majority of his Championship appearances this season off the bench.
The teenager, who made his senior Blues debut as a 16-year-old in the Carling Cup against Rochdale last season, admits he is still bowled over by the reception he receives at St Andrews' in front of the home fans.
"When I'm coming on as a sub it's like a big roar," he added.
"Everyone loves a local lad and I'm glad I bring a bit of something going forward because last year I think we lacked that just a little bit. I think we've now got a much more attacking team."
