Norwegian defender hopes to stay at Parkhead for a long time

Celtic defender Thomas Rogne has confirmed there have been initial talks regarding a new contract as he looks to stay at Parkhead for a 'long time'. Rogne has made 37 appearances for the Bhoys since joining the club two years ago and has a further season to run on his existing contract. He is relishing playing for the SPL leaders and the 21-year-old is hoping an agreement can be reached over an extension. "There have been a few talks," said Rogne. "I'm very pleased to stay here and hopefully I'll stay here for a long time so we will see what happens. "I love this club, I love playing here."

Professional

Meanwhile, Rogne is not interested in trying to set any records after Celtic moved 20 points ahead of Old Firm rivals Rangers at the top of the table following Wednesday's 2-0 win over Dunfermline. He added: "It's a big gap and of course we're happy with that gap. But we know we're on a good run and we want to keep it going. We don't want to be complacent. "We need to be professional and just look at every game and go for three points. "We're playing well but we need to keep it going because you never know what's going to happen in football. "I know you guys want me to say the league is over but it's not. We're looking to the next game and that's our focus. "We have been thinking about the next game all season and it has been working so far."
