Tim Wiese wants Werder Bremen to make a decision on his future but does not think he will struggle to find a new club if he fails to earn a new contract.
The German international goalkeeper will be a free agent in the summer and he has been in talks with Bremen for several months.
Wiese, who joined Bremen from Kaiserslautern in the summer of 2005, would like to stay but his reportedly expensive wages are thought to be an issue for the club.
He told Kreiszeitung Syke newspaper: "If Werder Bremen are unwilling to keep me, in the very end I will then have to leave the club. It is as simple as that.
"I am unaware how things will be this summer. No-one has told me yet. I just know that I am on a super performance level for this club for several years now and that I like being at this club very much.
"I like the club as much as my family likes being here, too. I have plenty of time. I know the club needs to look at costs and if I am to get a new deal.
"I will not be without a club next season. This is why I am not afraid of anything."
