QPR striker hoping to return soon from groin injury

Queens Park Rangers striker Heidar Helguson has expressed his frustration at the injury which has interrupted his season and feels he is still a couple of weeks away from a return. Helguson has scored nine goals in 18 appearances for QPR this term, but has been sidelined since the FA Cup defeat by Chelsea at the end of January due to a groin injury. The 34-year-old is starting to step up his comeback bid and is disappointed that he is unable to play a part in QPR's efforts to secure Premier League survival. "The injury is coming along nicely," Helguson told the club's official website.

Frustrating

"I have just started running and will gradually build up as I feel more comfortable. I am still a couple of weeks away I would think but I will have a clearer idea on that in a week or so. "It has been a frustrating period for me. Injuries never come at a good time but it does seem this came at a really bad time. "The season was going well for me. I was scoring a few goals. That makes it even more frustrating really, especially given the situation we are in because I am unable to help. "But there is nothing you can do about this now, you just have to get on with it."
