Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Abou Diaby could return to action against Everton next week, while Andre Santos is also closing on a comeback.
Diaby was absent for the Gunners' 2-1 win over Newcastle on Monday night as he continued his recovery from a hamstring injury, while Santos was an unused substitute, having not featured for three months after breaking his ankle in December
Wenger says midfielder Diaby, who picked up a knock against Liverpool earlier this month on his comeback from a long-term hamstring problem, could play a part against the Toffees at Goodison Park next Wednesday.
Full-back Santos, meanwhile, will feature for the reserve team against West Brom on Wednesday night to get some game time under his belt before he makes his first-team return.
The manager told Arsenal's official website: "Diaby is not far [away], Santos I think will play on Wednesday night in the reserves against West Brom. He will need 90 minutes.
"Diaby should be back for Everton, he has a little chance."
Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere has not played this season due to a foot injury but could return to boost England's Euro 2012 campaign in the summer.
The 20-year-old still has a way to go in his recovery, however, with Wenger adding: "Jack [Wilshere] is less imminent."
