Wolves midfielder Jamie O'Hara has confessed he returned too early from injury after being ruled out for another four weeks.
The former Tottenham player underwent groin surgery in December and made his comeback in February to help his club's battle against Premier League relegation.
But O'Hara has admitted he has been playing with the help of painkilling injections and has been unable to do himself justice.
The £5million man did not feature in the weekend's hammering by Manchester United and will also not return until he is fully fit.
O'Hara said on Twitter: "Since I've come back from it (the injury), I've had to have injections for games and haven't been able to train.
"I haven't been able to play at the levels I expect from myself so I've decided until I'm 100 per cent in my groins then I'll be out.
"I probably came back too early cos I was so desperate to play and help the team." (sic).
Terry Connor's Wolves are now without five central midfielders after losing Karl Henry, David Davis, Nenad Milijas and Emmanuel Frimpong.
And Connor told the Express & Star: "Jamie's going to go through a rehab programme to give his groins the chance to get 100 per cent right.
"I think they're looking at a four-week programme.
"It would be great if it was two or three weeks, but he needs time to recover and rehab properly so when he comes back he's firing on all cylinders and 100 per cent."
