Agent - No Torres talks

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres' agent is aware of rumours linking his client with a move to Italy, but says no transfer talks have taken place.

Denial after Chelsea striker linked with Roma and Juventus

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres' agent is aware of rumours linking his client with a move to Italy, but says no transfer talks have taken place. The latest round of speculation regarding the misfiring Spain striker has suggested that he could be a summer target for Roma. Serie A giants Juventus are also believed to be keen on offering Torres a route out of Stamford Bridge. The £50million forward has, however, looked happier since Roberto Di Matteo inherited the managerial reins at Chelsea and his performances have started to improve. He is also tied to a long-term contract with the Blues and for that reason his representative has been quick to play down reports of a switch elsewhere. "We know the new American project at Roma and the philosophy of manager Luis Enrique, but if Roma want Fernando they will have to talk with Chelsea," Antonio Sanz told pagineromaniste.com.

Confidence

"The Italian championship is of a good standard, but there are currently no discussions with Roma or Juventus. "Fernando has another four years on his contract at Chelsea and the situation there has changed for him. "With (Andre) Villas-Boas he was not considered, but the arrival of Di Matteo on the bench has seen him rediscover his confidence. "He played a great match in the Champions League in Lisbon (against Benfica), assisting the winning goal for (Salomon) Kalou. "We'll evaluate his future in the coming months."
