England Under-21 international reportedly attracting interest

Jack Butland was delighted to return to form at the weekend, amid claims that Manchester United have joined the queue of clubs looking at him. The England Under-21 international goalkeeper is currently on loan from Birmingham at League Two Cheltenham Town, where he has been attracting rave reviews. Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked, but now United are reported to have sent goalkeeping coach Eric Steele to make a check on the 19-year-old. Butland himself is concentrating on helping Cheltenham seal a place in the League Two play-offs. "It's my job to try and help out and throughout season the defence have been very good, so I try to repay them when I can," he said.

Massive relief

He also admitted that he was happy to return to form over the weekend after having an off-day against Southend a week earlier. "It was a massive relief because I'll be the first to tell you I wasn't happy with my performance at Southend and I needed to put it behind me," he said. "The last match hadn't gone the way I'd planned and it was a difficult game, but it was gone the next morning. "I do look back on the goals I conceded and assess what I didn't do right, but that's it and it's all about bouncing back from those."
