Portsmouth striker Marko Futacs insists he has no problem being a substitute - just as long as he is able to contribute to the team.
The 22-year-old scored a last-gasp winner to secure a 4-3 victory over Doncaster at the weekend after coming off the bench, which condemned Rovers to League One.
Futacs has been used sparingly by manager Michael Appleton this term but the young striker has proved he is more than able when called upon.
Pressure
"In the last few weeks I have only been named on the bench and the manager has told me it is because I am a young player, and with us fighting relegation, he didn't want to put too much pressure on me," he told
f-group.hu.
"Luke Varney is also back from injury and he was the team's top scorer before he got injured. I accepted Michael Appleton's decision, but I'm hopeful of getting into the starting line-up.
"I've been trying to help the team from the bench, I didn't feel aggrieved when the line-up was named [and I wasn't in it]. I have been training hard and trying to maintain a positive mentality."
It was Futacs' fifth goal of the term and he hopes that it might be enough to earn him a starting role in Tuesday's game against Crystal Palace.
"Scoring the winner was an unbelievable feeling," he added. "I ran to the fans who have been supportive and celebrated with them.
"We earned an important win and I hope we win against Crystal Palace on Tuesday too - maybe with me in the starting line-up."
