David de Gea insists it would be 'a dream come true' to end his first season at Old Trafford with a winners' medal.
The Spanish shot-stopper has had his critics throughout the season after taking time to settle at Manchester United.
But Sir Alex Ferguson kept faith in the Spain Under 21 star and was repaid when he produced a spectacular last-gasp save to earn his side a share of the points against Chelsea in February.
It proved to be a crucial save as United then went on an eight-game winning streak to overhaul leaders Manchester City, and one that may yet define their season according to the £18million man who is now being talked about in glowing terms.
"When you look back over a season there are lots of defining moments and key goals," he said.
"But, I suppose, from a team point of view, and particularly from a personal point of view, the fact the save was right in the last minute was decisive.
"It gave me a huge confidence boost as well and that was important.
Relaxed
"Now we are in front and we have to try and stay there because it would be a dream come true to win the league in my first season.
"It is nice to know supporters are voting me. It is always a positive when the fans are behind you.
"It is something I can sense when I am on the field and makes me feel more relaxed.
"It is a source of extra motivation when you know the fans are right behind you and rooting for you.
"But all that aside, it is just a case of getting your head down, keep working hard and making sure you do have a continuous improvement all the time."
