Blackburn midfielder David Dunn admits the club's plight is hurting him but is still hopeful they can survive the drop.
Rovers are three points from safety with just three games to go in what has been a turbulent season on and off the field.
Protests against manager Steve Kean and club owners Venky's have been a regular feature of the campaign and the upheaval at Blackburn has affected local boy Dunn.
"It hurts a lot," Dunn said "Everything around it hurts me. There just seems to be unrest everywhere you look.
"But unfortunately that happens sometimes when things aren't going well.
"I think there have probably been too many changes in a short space of time and I think any club that makes that many changes would be affected.
"That goes from at the training ground to down at Ewood (Park). But we've got to keep going."
Frustrating
The 32-year-old has enjoyed better times at Rovers, enjoying promotion with the club in 2001 before winning the League Cup and making his England debut against Portugal the following year.
But he believes keeping Blackburn in the Premier League this season would be among his greatest achievements.
Dunn added: "I think winning the League Cup was really good and the promotion year was great, and my England cap.
"But I do think that after everything we've had to put up with this year, and it's been so frustrating for everyone involved with the club, it would be a great achievement to stay up.
"Basically, whoever goes down deserves to go down. Hopefully the big man upstairs can look down on us and keep us in the league.
"We've got to match the other teams for determination and willingness to grind out results and I think too many times this season we haven't done that."
