Ipswich keeper not offered a new contract by Jewell

Veteran goalkeeper Richard Wright wants to continue his playing career after confirming he will not be offered a new contract at Ipswich Town. Wright returned for a third spell at Portman Road last summer, but the 34-year-old has made just one Championship appearance this season. Town boss Paul Jewell will not be offering Wright an extension, but the keeper is keen to find a new club for next term. "I had a chat with the gaffer and we talked about my ambitions and I told him they were simple - I want to carry on playing," Wright told the club's official website. "I feel as fit as I've ever done. I've worked hard in training and I want to play matches. "The gaffer has said that he couldn't offer me anything and I understand that. Now it's down to me to win a contract elsewhere because I want to carry on playing." Wright started his career with Ipswich and, during his three stints with the club, he has made over 360 appearances.
