John Obi Mikel admits Chelsea's top-four hopes are finished and that they must focus on an FA Cup and Champions League double.
The Blues slipped up in their bid for a top-four finish in the Premier League after losing 2-0 to Newcastle on Wednesday to leave them four points behind the Magpies and Tottenham with just two games left to play.
Mikel admits they must forget about missing out in the Premier League and channel all their energy into winning this weekend's FA Cup final against Liverpool before taking on Bayern Munich in the final of the Champions League.
"The top four has gone and now the only chance we have to qualify for the Champions League is to win the final in Munich," Mikel told The Sun.
"That is what everyone at Chelsea wants, the players, supporters and the club. We must concentrate on that.
"But first we have to make sure we win the FA Cup final on Saturday. We can't let that opportunity pass."
Mikel knows they cannot afford to dwell on their defeat by Newcastle, with the Wembley showdown against Liverpool on the horizon.
"We have been doing really well lately but this was one game where we were below par," added Mikel.
"We didn't create enough chances. But we have to forget about this game because we have a big final coming up at Wembley.
"The manager has been making changes for quite a few of our recent games and before Wednesday it had been going well for us.
"Against Newcastle it was one of those days. When we played Barcelona last week they had a lot of the ball but couldn't score. That is the way it goes sometimes.
"Now we have to go back to training and put things right against Liverpool."
